Lighthouse for the Blind of Fort Worth

Founded in 1935, the Lighthouse for the Blind of Fort Worth has grown during seven decades for the purpose of providing employment for people who are blind and visually impaired. During its long history, the Lighthouse has provided consistent, quality products to military and federal customers and has helped thousands of people who are blind achieve economic independence through employment. As a Digital Data Scan® provider, the Lighthouse for the Blind of Fort Worth now offers a valuable service to local businesses while creating additional high-tech employment opportunities for people who are blind.

Like all providers of Digital Data Scan®, the Lighthouse for the Blind of Fort Worth is an independent non-profit organization that is associated with National Industries for the Blind (NIB) and the AbilityOne Program. As an AbilityOne Program participating agency, at least 75% of Lighthouse employees are legally blind. In fact, because of organizations like the Lighthouse, Americans who are blind are able to lead more productive and independent lives.
